How it Began...
Alicia's version of how they met...
Well, for anyone who knows us well, will know we have known each other for over a decade! Without going into too much detail, we hadn’t seen each other in over five years…then FATE stepped in!
It was 3 years ago, Sandra, my best friend and I were living in a condo at Hurontario and Eglington. She was having her family birthday party at her mom’s place and I was included in the festivities. It was a Sunday, beginning of December, 2006! Sandra and I were both feeling a little under the weather as we had been out celebrating her birthday the night before. I was almost going to cancel, but THANK GOD I didn’t.
We show up and Eric was already there. I thought to myself that I had forgotten how cute he was. The celebration continued and we sat beside each other and were cracking jokes the entire afternoon. I felt very comfortable with him, and he was making me laugh like crazy, and anyone who knows me well knows I LOVE to laugh! I also noticed how great he was with his son Ty and with Lauren. The children seemed to just gravitate to him.
When it was time to say goodbye, I have to admit, I was a little disappointed having to say goodbye as it had been a wonderful afternoon. We hugged, and said “hope to see you again soon” and that was it.
Back at the condo, later that night, I mentioned to Sandra that I usually don’t feel things like this, but that I had a feeling about Eric, that I couldn’t shake. For me to say this out loud, and Sandra knowing me the way she does, knew that I am not one who is open with my emotions. By me coming to her with these feelings, she knew that they were real and I guess that set the ball in motion…Sandra played Matchmaker!
Later that week, I got a text from Eric… I was very excited to get it! We texted back and forth for about a week, and then set a date to meet up for a drink. That entire week we were texting each other, he was hysterically funny, and I knew I was falling for him! Our first date was at Montana’s, we closed the place down! We had a great conversation, and again, I felt very comfortable with him, yet was giddy at the same time. He walked me to my car, we hugged, and that was it.
On December 23rd…he came and met my family for dinner, and met my parents… on the second date! I knew this one was a keeper if he was so comfortable to meet my family on the second date. Later that night, we shared our first kiss, and so began our love story!!!!
On a side note, Eric came into my life at the exact time he was supposed to! My parents were leaving the country in the New Year and he stepped in and was my rock, when I needed someone the most. For that, I will be forever grateful to him!
And now, the saga continues…
Eric's Version of how they met...
Throughout the ages, there have been many epic love stories. Romeo & Juliet, Samson & Delilah, Sonny & Cher and now, Alicia & Eric.
It all started out of rather innocently at Sandra's birthday. Jokes were flying left, right and center, as it became a competition of who could make Sandra's Uncle John laugh the hardest. I had never met such a competitive woman before. Game On!!!
The day had come and gone and I thought nothing more of it until I received a text message from Sandra. Apparently, she and her family sensed a great chemistry between Alicia and I. Being an oblivious male, I missed this fact as I was to busy competing for the funniest joke.
Once Sandra spelled it out, very slowly, and clearly for me... I decided to get in touch with Alicia.
Date 1: In walked Alicia with big, lionesque hair...and late. According to our waiter, the late party always foots the bill. Not only did we have a great time, but she paid too. Fantastic... With the money I saved, I could now afford to take her out on a second date.
I was stunned the following day and weeks to follow as she kept returning my calls. A great, beautiful woman like her, who could have her pick of any guy, actually returned my calls. As weeks grew into months, she began to really "MATTER" to me. I couldn't tell her it was LOVE for the fear of coming on too strong and scare her off...but man did she ever "MATTER". The romance has grown into a full blown Epic Love Story. This is just the the first few chapters...
